Liverpool Biennial is the UK’s largest festival of contemporary visual art. In 2022/23 I worked with their team to design and deliver the identity for their 12th edition.
Slavery – or the impact of colonialism – is central to the work in this year’s festival, which spans eight exhibition venues and five outdoor works. Entitled uMoya: The Sacred Return of Lost Things, it is as much about the horrors of the past as it is about the healing potential of the future.
I designed all marketing, promotion, exhibition design, programmes and interpretation for the festival.
